Safe Sonoma was created in
honor of Sandra Cantu, the child that went missing in Tracy, California, in 2009. There are websites that a person can go to
for information on what to do if a child goes missing. There is the phone book that one can use to
look up these organizations if one has a phone book handy and if they know what
organizations provide help to missing children and other individuals. Missing persons is a complex issue as there
are many types of abductions. We are
dealing strictly with children, although this checklist and description sheets
can be used for Alzheimer patients and missing adults. Other check lists on what to do for a missing
loved one can be found at www.pollyklaas.org; they are specialists in this
field and can go nation wide with your search immediately. Some of these checklists include parental
abduction, familial abduction, runaways etc.
The Polly
Klaas Foundation is in Petaluma, California, and the
organization was created when Polly Klaas of Petaluma went
missing. The first 24 hours in the
abduction of a child are critical. We
know that you will probably not have the presence of mind to surf the web or
use the phone book in a time of crisis.
We are providing this check list and description packet free of charge
to people in Sonoma County. . . . more information
